Lock strives to show himself to others as easy going and even-tempered. Like any of the O'Connelleys, however, he has one hell of a temper when pushed in the wrong direction. He does his best to separate himself from the situation, and because of this often comes across as overly emotional. Lock is something of an introvert, and is just as happy working alone in his room on a new project than he is among friends. He is loyal to his family before all others, and is more likely to stand up for his siblings than himself or any others, usually considering it not worth the fight. Mistreating Claudia, however, is the quickest way to experience Lock's short temper.

history
Lock was never close to his mother. She suffered from several mental issues, and was not close to any of her children. Lock was raised mostly by nannies and his overly protective father, who he revered as a child and began to have sympathy for as he grew older. His older sister, Sybil, constantly tried to fill that "maternal figure" role he was missing, which he resented even as a young child and caused frequent feuding; they still don't talk unless they are discussing family issues. When Claudia was born, Lock quickly became attached. He was always toddling after the nannies so he could sneak a peek at his little sister: he knew there was something special about her. They were close growing up, and he is very protective of her and her well being to this day.
