trends!
defined as a something that is happening in excess on campus. this goes way beyond typical partying and the like, this is much deeper. being a teenager is hard enough, competition can be killer and add in a bunch of spoiled rich kids who want to be the best or even the unpopular who want nothing more than to be noticed by the popular kids and suddenly there's an epidemic of something. all trends will be controlled by the site, meaning that we will define the current school trend and the number of students will will allow to follow that plot line. some trends are pregnancy, drug overdose, suicide attempt, anorexia/bulimia, bullying.

disasters
these are defined as incidents of things that are far more isolated and happen at random. at the most, two students would be allowed to play out this plot line because three or more will be considered a trend. all topics listed in trends can also be part of this category, however, if they are currently trending and all the spots are filled, you cannot plot it out at that time and must wait for the trend to be over. other disasters include psychiatric episodes, serious illness/injury, rehab and death.

scandals
while all of these things are technically scandals, we are defining scandals here as something that deals with the involvement of staff and students or locals and students (under age students mostly). teacher-student relationships are considered scandals no matter how old the student is. then there is the corruption of youth. that would be defined more as a teacher providing students alcohol/drugs and locals providing alcohol/drugs to students. * i will let the relationships slide just because an 18 year old local and a 17 year old student is considered a scandal and that's lame, so we'll just turn our heads on dating locals.
